How to Treat Mite Infested Cell Phones, Laptops and Televisions

Mites love to get inside cell phones, televisions and computer monitors. Some say it’s the flickering light that attracts them like a moth to the flame. Others claim it’s the warmth that makes electronic devices so attractive. Whatever the case, a bird mite victim’s first real glimpse of a previously unseen attacker often often occurs when an ultra tiny speck comes crawling across a television or computer screen. It's never okay to spray liquid pesticides into electronic devices. Try this dry method instead!

Toss cedar granules into air tight storage containers with your electronic devices.

These chemical free granules are normally sold to farmers, gardeners and homeowners seeking to control all types of insect infestations around the perimeter of their homes. The granules are valued for ease of application and powerful residual effects. All liquid pesticides evaporate eventually, but our heartwood granules deliver a fresh blast of cedar infused liquid to the soil or grass each time it rains!

  • Kills all life cycles and repels fleas, ticks, ants, mosquitoes, & mites
  • Safe for plants, children and pets
  • 8lb bag covers 2500 sq.ft.
  • 20lb bag cover 5000 sq. ft.

Tip: Make pest controlling sachet bags to toss into storage bins.

If you don't want loose granules floating around your storage bins full of electronic equipment, you can place the granules inside sachet bags. Sachet bags are generally used for things like potpourri, candy and wedding favors. Instead of filling them with things like dried flowers to, why not fill them with our pest controlling cedar granules?

This storage box will fit most laptops. (14 5/8" x 10 1/4" x 3 3/8")

Other great ways to use our granules!

  • Make pest controlling sachets to put into laundry bins.  Just fill sachet bags (pictured above) with our cedar granules. Toss the sachet bags into plastic bins full of dirty laundry and keep the lid closed over the bins.
  • Fill trays or bowls with granules and place the bowls into kitchen cabinets, especially cabinets under sinks.
  • Toss cedar filled sachet bags into drawers.
  • Spread granules around your yard to control fleas, ticks and mites.
  • Spread granules throughout your vegetable garden to control the pests that eat your produce.
  • If your mite infestation began outside due to rodent or mold problems, surround the perimeter of your home with the granules to kill mold and insects that feed upon mold. Granules have longer residual effects than liquids. Each time it rains, a fresh shot of pest controlling fluids will drip into the soil. Get up to two months of residual effects!

Choose a home and body spray that's both a killer and a repellent.

  • Many pesticide sprays are merely contact killers. They don't "prevent" mites from getting into the bed or crawling across your skin. Their only power lies in killing mites that may already be lingering on floors and beds.
  • Dr. Ben's Evictor kills mites on contact and leaves behind a fresh cedar scent that repels bugs after it dries. Residual scents help to discourage traffic and nesting in sprayed spaces. It's a great way to keep mites from crossing back into your sleep space after you're already sprayed the bed.
  • Dr. Ben's Evictor is  100% organic. You can use it to treat skin, hair, dogs, couches, beds, carpets and more.

Advanced or chronic mite cases may require fogging with Dr. Ben's Evictor.

Bird and rodent mites don't just move across beds, couches and floors. They can be EVERYWHERE, including walls and ceilings. A fog machine will help pest controlling mist settle upon walls, ceilings and other surfaces that traditional spray techniques can't reach. If a fog machine isn't in your budget at this time, try saturating a sponge pop with Dr. Ben's Evictor. Mop walls and ceilings! If you continue treating floors while ignoring other infected spaces, it could prolong your infestation.
